Character Options

– Homo Sapiens
The original race on the block. The standard that everyone else is measured to. No bonuses, no powers, but, then again, you don’t see too many humans being excluded from… anything. Humans are the most populous (for now) of the races. Everybody knows what humans look like.

– Homo Sapiens Nobilis
The daisy-eater. Elves are more agile and socially adept than humans, as well as being one of the most snooty and stuck-up races ever to grace the earth. They stand about 1.9 meters tall and 72 kilograms, on average. Their skin is usually lighter than normal humans, though elves with black skin are just as common as their human counterparts. Elves have many more rod constructs than humans. Elves also have a higher occurrence of the HMMCT gene, which causes magical ability, and their possible life span is much longer than a human.

(Elf variant)
A mostly European metavariant of elves, known by their own choice as the night ones, possesses the distinguishing physical characteristic of fine fur covering their bodies. This layer of fur is indistinguishable from skin at a distance, but the fact that the fur ranges in color from black to violet to blue, with some rare examples of green and very deep orange, makes the metavariant quickly apparent at close range. The Night Ones’ hair and eyes are usually a tint of their skin color, though a few rare Night Ones have silver hair and eyes. Because the most common colors of fur are the dark shades, the general public almost immediately dubbed these elves the Dark Elves. Despite popular urban myth, however, the Night Ones are not a cult or an “Evil” elven subgroup. Found mainly in Europe, an increasing number of Night Ones have been appearing in Denver as of late. Night Ones have a mild allergy to sunlight and so prefer to live and work at night, but otherwise they resemble other elves.

– Homo Sapiens Pumilionis
The halfer. Dwarves are hardier and stronger than normal humans, their muscle density resembles that of a lizards, and their immune system is very well developed. They are slower, as they are much shorter than humans. The average dwarf stands about 1.2 meters tall and weighs around 54 kilos. Dwarves have hour-glass shaped pupils, that let them see into the thermo-graphic spectrum. A dwarf’s melanin count is about the same as human, but their white blood cell ratio is much higher, and their cells last longer. A dwarf’s possible age is longer than a humans, usually around 120. About one in every four dwarves ears have points.

(Dwarf variant)
Members of the gnome subgroup inhabit Central Europe and Asia Minor. Gnome are distinguished from common dwarfs by longer noses and a shorter, more childlike physique. Gnomes tend to favor rural environments over urban settings. Most cling to the behaviors traditionally attributed to their race by mythology and seem unnerved by modern technology. All know magical gnomes are shamans.

– Homo Sapiens Robustus
The breeder. Orks are much bigger and stronger than humans, but they are slightly less mentally and socially acute. Orks stand just under 2m and weigh around 95 kilograms. Their skin has a very high melanin count, and some orks has a special gene known as RLCT which sometimes creates a greenish tint to their skin. However, nearly Caucasian orks do exist. Orks have litters of 2-5 babies instead of one baby, and so are exploding in population size. They are the largest non-human metahuman group. Orks have the rod counts of elves, and so see in the dark very well. Their life-span is much shorter, however, usually reaching a limit of about 50 years.

(Ork variant)
Members of the Mediterranean satyr subgroup often possess relatively small physical builds, furry lower bodies, cloven hooves and small, curly horns. Popular myth to the contrary, satyrs are not all musicians or “party animals” Nearly all satyrs possess magical abilities and follow the ways of the shaman (coyote). Though metahuman satyrs are often confused with wild satyrs, members of the or-satyr group. Satyrs have a -1 to quickness due to their hooves and a +1 bonus to willpower.

(Ork variant)
The hobgoblins of the Middle East are smaller and slighter than most Ork variants. Hobgoblins’ greenish skin tones, sharp teeth and dark, beady eyes give them a fierce appearance, which has contributed to general anti-metahuman prejudice in the Middle East, especially among Fundamentalists sects. Hobgoblins are also distinguished by the vicious tempers and strong sense of personal honor, which demands that hobgoblins avenge any slight or disrespect toward them.

(Ork variant)
Members of the European ogre subgroup are shorter and stockier than most Orks. They possess smoother skin and less body and head hair than other Orks, as well as pronounced jaw lines.

– Homo Sapiens Ingentis
The trog… but don’t say it to his face. Trolls are huge and nasty. They are much bigger and stronger than orks, dwarfing (pun) humans and elves by comparison. Their brains, however, seem to have suffered from the thin air up there. Some trolls are near-genius in mind strength, but not many. They have dermal deposits throughout their skin, which makes it much tougher, but also much uglier. Trolls have the same hour-glass pupils as dwarves. They stand about 2.8 meters, and weigh nearly 225 kilograms. Their life-span is around sixty years. They have the same skin color as orks, but albino trolls are much more common then human or ork albinos.
Trolls are the rarest breed of metahuman.

(Troll variant)

Greek and Mediterranean trolls, known as Cyclops are often larger and more heavily muscled than other trolls. They lack most of the dermal bone deposits common among trolls, but are most easily distinguished by the fact they have only a single eye in the middle of their forehead. All Cyclops either have one horn or, in rare instances, no horns. Cyclops receive the standard troll modifiers with the following exception. Strength +6(limit 10) and no dermal armor. Cyclops also receive a +2 target modifier for ranged attacks because they lack depth perception.

(Troll variant)
Nordic trolls, or giants, are fairer and taller than other trolls. The average giant stands 3.5 meters tall, and most lack horns and the dermal bone deposits common to their race. For as-yet-unknown reasons, giants seem to have a greater than average tendency toward genetic reversions- one out of every four female infants born to giant mothers is human(homo sapiens). Giants posses the standard troll racial modifications with the following exceptions: +5 strength and no dermal armor.

(Troll variant)
Minotaurs are an unusual Mediterranean mutation of the troll metatype, distinguished by pronounced snouts in place of noses, wide-set eyes, long horns and extensive body hair.
